Samantha Chapnick's Review...

Online learning's graphic design program took me by surprise. In the 9 years I have been working in elearning and reviewing literally thousands of programs, I have only come across a few that were exceptional and most of them were simulations or other "game" types. The asynchronous blackboard-style programs have consistently ranked at the bottom of the pile--often lower than simple page turner pdfs.

So you can imagine how delighted I was to use online learning's graphic design class. I have never before seen an elearning program in this category that is truly exceptional. It held my attention from the first moment I used it to the end of the class. The user interface is logical, intuitive and most importantly: simple. It doesn't add in unnecessary fluff but nor does it look so bare bones as to be ugly. I was able to quickly get to anywhere I wanted to go and did not feel constrained by the need to follow any one path or another.

The content itself is of the highest quality. It can be challenging to learn a subject such as graphic design via computer--so much of it is about developing an eye. This program is intelligent in that it really understands the audience and stays within the appropriate constraints. Instead of encouraging people to become Picasso, it focuses on making sure there is a common understanding of the basics and an ability to apply those basics in standard ways. It is absolutely perfect for the neophyte.

On a final note, the graphics are a high point of the program. There are just the right number of them in the right places. Unlike many programs that fall into the trap of gratuitous graphics, online learning's program uses them sparingly but where they are most powerful.

I have strongly recommended hiring and using online-learning in my book and will continue to be a loyal fan."
