SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference
Model) is a collection of specifications adapted from multiple sources
to provide a comprehensive suite of e-learning capabilities that
enable interoperability, accessibility and reusability of Web-based
learning content.
Advanced
Distributed Learning
The Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative, sponsored
by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), is a collaborative
effort between government, industry and academia to establish a
new distributed learning environment that permits the interoperability
of learning tools and course content on a global scale. ADL's vision
is to provide access to the highest quality education and training,
tailored to individual needs, delivered cost-effectively anywhere
and anytime.
Plugfest
6: Dynamic Appearance Model (PPT)
Roger St-Pierre, Peter Hope, Suzanne Skublics and Howard
Fear presented the Dynamic Appearance Model paper at Plugfest 6.
Check the link to see the presentation including details, experiences,
and how it will affect future SCORM content development.
Plugfest 4: SCORM Dynamic Appearance
Model 1.0 (PDF)
At Plugfest 4, many people discussed the problem of how
to change the look and feel of a Shareable Content Object after
it is authored. The Canadian Defence Learning Network Test Lab under
Roger St-Pierre started to investigate this problem. This
white paper describes the problem and proposes a solution. The
paper builds upon the work of the IMS Simple Sequencing Working
Group and sets the stage for adaptive learning.
Our courses have passed the
Advanced Distributed Learning
Initiative's SCORM compliance test.
